Nimba District #9 Lawmaker Awards L$150,000 to Boost Morale of Tournament Runners-Up

GANTA, NIMBA COUNTY — Representative Taa Z. Wongbe of Nimba County Electoral District #9 has provided L$150,000 in financial assistance to the district’s sports team following its runner-up finish in the recently concluded Inter-District Peace Tournament.

The contribution was made during an engagement with the players and team officials in Ganta, where the lawmaker recognized their efforts in representing the district throughout the competition.

Despite falling short of the championship title, the team’s second-place achievement earned recognition from Representative Wongbe, who praised the players for their determination and commitment to the tournament.

The L$150,000 presentation serves as a reward for the team’s performance and an acknowledgment of its role in bringing positive attention to Electoral District #9.

Wongbe also highlighted the broader value of investing in sports, noting its potential to bring communities together, strengthen peaceful relationships, promote discipline, and keep young people engaged in productive activities.

The gesture reflects the importance of recognizing sporting achievements and encouraging young people to pursue opportunities that contribute to community development and social cohesion.
