MONROVIA, Liberia — Montserrado County District #15 representative aspirant Rev. Philip Blamo has questioned the priorities of Liberian lawmakers, arguing that greater attention should be given to resolving border security concerns involving the Guinean Army.
Blamo said lawmakers can be removed from their leadership positions, including the Speaker of the House of Representatives, but stressed that resolving the reported presence of Guinean troops along Liberia’s border requires peaceful and diplomatic engagement.
“You can remove speakers anytime, but you cannot peacefully and diplomatically remove the Guinean Army from our border,” Blamo stated.

His remarks draw a contrast between lawmakers’ leadership disputes and the broader national concern over border security, urging public officials to put the interests of citizens first.
Blamo called for greater focus on protecting Liberia’s territorial integrity and addressing concerns affecting communities along the border through diplomatic channels.
His statement underscores the need for lawmakers and government officials to prioritize national security and citizens’ welfare alongside political and legislative matters.
